Yoga & Pilates

All classes will be moving to a Live Streaming format, which will provide many benefits that you otherwise wouldn't normally get from an in person class..

Livestream classes provide the opportunity for real-time interaction. I’ll be able to observe your practice, give feedback, and help refine your technique, just like in a physical class.

This format also offers several benefits:

  • No travel time.

  • Greater flexibility, especially for those balancing busy schedules or family commitments.

  • The chance to join classes from anywhere, making it accessible for those who live further away.

Vinyasa Flow
(Open Level)
Wednesday nights
7pm (ACST)

Vinyasa Yoga unites movement and breath to create a mindful practice that invites
self-reflection and healing.

Derived from 'nyasa' meaning "to place", and 'vi' meaning "in a special way", Vinyasa Yoga encourages us to bring consciousness to each movement on the mat.

Through sequential movement between postures, guided by deliberate breath, Vinyasa Yoga becomes a moving meditation that fosters strength, flexibility, and fluidity in both body and mind.

Vinyasa Yoga doesn’t adhere to a fixed system of movements. This freedom allows the teacher to create unique sessions that easily theme around yoga philosophy or cater to the needs of our students. Every class is a unique experience, guided by the creative choice of the teacher.

I welcome practitioners of all levels to join us on the mat, where movement becomes a reflection of who we are and where we want to go. Through self- reflection and mindfulness, we open up a window to our true selves, fostering self-transformation and healing.

  • What's the difference between yoga and Pilates?
Yoga and Pilates are both popular practices known for their ability to enhance strength, flexibility, and overall well-being, yet they diverge in their origins, principles, and techniques. Originating millennia ago in ancient India, yoga encompasses a broad spectrum of practices, including physical postures (asanas), breath control (pranayama), meditation, and moral precepts. Its core philosophy emphasises the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit, with the ultimate goal of achieving holistic health and spiritual growth. In contrast, Pilates emerged in the early 20th century as a rehabilitative system of exercises developed by Joseph Pilates for injured soldiers. Pilates focusses primarily on strengthening the core muscles, refining posture, and fostering muscular balance and alignment. While both disciplines incorporate elements of breath awareness and mindfulness, yoga typically emphasises flowing movement and sustained holds in postures, whereas Pilates prioritises controlled movements and precise body alignment.

  • What should I wear to a yoga or Pilates class?
For both yoga and Pilates classes, we recommend wearing comfortable, stretchy clothing that allows for ease of movement. Consider wearing layers that you can easily remove or add as needed. Remember to also have a pair of socks and possibly a jumper or light jacket for relaxation or cool-down periods. Overall, choose attire that makes you feel confident and unrestricted, allowing you to fully focus on your practice.
  • What do I need to bring to class?
For your yoga or Pilates class, we recommend having a few essentials to enhance your experience. Firstly, don't forget to have your yoga/pilates mat for personal comfort. Additionally, consider having a water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the session. Depending on your preference, you may also want to have props handy, such as yoga blocks or straps though these are purely optional.
  • Are there any specific etiquette rules I should be aware of?
Here are some etiquette guidelines designed to ensure a harmonious and enjoyable experience for everyone in our Pilates and yoga classes: 1. Arrive punctually: We kindly ask that you arrive a few minutes early to settle in and prepare for the class, allowing everyone to begin together smoothly. 3. Silence your phone: To maintain a tranquil atmosphere, we encourage you to silence or turn off your phone before entering the online studio. 4. Communicate with your teacher: If you have any concerns, injuries, or special needs, please feel free to communicate them with your teacher before the class starts. 5. Maintain cleanliness: Help us uphold a clean and hygienic environment by wiping down any equipment you use. 6. Stay for the entire class: Whenever possible, we encourage you to stay for the entirety of the class to fully benefit from the teacher's guidance and the flow of the practice, while also respecting the concentration and experience of your fellow students by minimising disruptions. Following these etiquette guidelines ensures that everyone can experience a positive and uplifting session, fostering a sense of community and well-being in our classes. Thank you for your cooperation and respect for your fellow practitioners.
  • Can I attend classes if I'm pregnant?
While many of our classes are generally suitable for pregnant individuals, it's important to note that specialised pregnancy classes or private sessions may be more appropriate, depending on the individual's pregnancy. I strongly advise consulting with your healthcare provider before participating in any new exercise regimen, particularly during pregnancy. Additionally, it's essential to consider any contra-indications or pre-existing conditions that may affect your ability to safely engage in Pilates and yoga. Starting a new practice, especially if you haven't done it before, is generally not recommended during pregnancy. I prioritise the safety and well-being of all participants, and I am available to provide guidance and support tailored to your specific needs. Please inform me if you are pregnant prior to booking so I can discuss your individual pregnancy and tailor recommendations accordingly.
  • Is there a minimum age to attend the classes?
We suggest a minimum age of 16 for participation in adult-oriented classes. This recommendation considers factors such as the intensity, duration, and focus required in these sessions, as well as safety considerations and the ability for participants to fully engage in the exercises. Younger individuals may not have fully developed the necessary body awareness, coordination, and maturity required for adult classes. Furthermore, certain movements and poses may not be suitable for those under 16 due to their stage of physical development. Ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all participants to derive maximum benefits from their practice is our utmost priority.
  • Do you offer private sessions?
Yes, I offer private sessions for both Yoga and Pilates classes. Private sessions provide personalised instruction tailored to your individual goals, needs, and abilities. Whether you're looking to deepen your practice, address specific concerns, or receive one-on-one guidance, I am here to support you on your wellness journey. Private sessions offer the flexibility to schedule sessions at your convenience and focus on areas that matter most to you, ensuring a customised and rewarding experience. Please contact me for more information or to schedule your private session.
